ALIBETOPIAS 2025 highlights the BETTED project as a reference for energy efficiency and sustainability in the dairy sector
The 11th edition of ALIBETOPIAS, held on October 21st in Madrid, once again brought together key actors from the Spanish agri-food ecosystem to discuss the future of innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation in the food and drink industry. Organized by the Spanish Food and Drink Federation (FIAB), together with the Technological Platform Food for Life Spain and with the collaboration of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the event reaffirmed its role as the main meeting point for exchanging knowledge and promoting more sustainable industrial models.
Among the initiatives presented, the BETTED project stood out as a leading example of how European collaboration can accelerate the energy transition in the dairy sector. The project promotes innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and integrate renewable sources across dairy processing plants, contributing to the sector’s decarbonization and competitiveness.
Throughout the event, FIAB showcased BETTED in the exhibitors’ area, sharing the project’s objectives and first results with professionals from across the agri-food value chain. The initiative attracted interest from companies and institutions seeking to adopt cleaner production models and sustainable energy management practices.

ALIBETOPIAS also hosted Ecotrophelia and Startup 2025 awards, highlighting the role of entrepreneurship and technological innovation as key drivers of transformation in the agri-food industry. These synergies perfectly align with BETTED’s mission to foster collaboration between industry, research, and technology providers to enable a more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible dairy sector.
With more than 250 participants, the event once again demonstrated its capacity to connect actors and inspire change. Through projects like BETTED, the food industry reinforces its commitment to building a greener, smarter, and more efficient and sustainable food industry for the future.
