Madrid, Spain – 30 June 2026
On 30 June 2026, the BETTED project successfully hosted the last Spanish Training Seminar and an Interactive Roundtable dedicated to promoting energy efficiency and sustainable innovation across the dairy sector. Organised by FIAB and ESCAN, the event brought together companies, industry representatives, technology providers and other key stakeholders interested in accelerating the sector’s green transition.
The seminar opened with a welcome session delivered by FIAB, introducing participants to the BETTED project, its objectives, and the consortium behind it. Attendees also discovered the project’s Innovation Intelligence Network (IIN), the online training courses available through the BETTED platform, and a range of dissemination materials and interesting resources developed throughout the project.
Training seminar: practical energy solutions for the dairy industry
The first part of the event focused on practical energy solutions that can help dairy companies improve their energy performance while reducing costs and environmental impact. ESCAN presented several technologies with strong potential for the food industry, including heat pump systems, photovoltaic solutions and biogas applications. Beyond explaining the technical concepts, the session showcased real-life applications and highlighted how these technologies can support companies on their path towards more sustainable and energy-efficient production.

Participants were also introduced to the BETTED online training resources and educational materials, designed to help professionals better understand energy efficiency opportunities and facilitate informed decision-making.
Interactive roundtable: putting BETTED tools into practice
The second part of the event adopted a highly interactive format, giving participants the opportunity to explore and test the practical tools developed within the BETTED project. During the roundtable session, ESCAN demonstrated how the BETTED Toolbox can be applied across dairy value chains to identify energy-saving opportunities and support investment decisions. Participants were able to discuss practical use cases, exchange ideas with experts and provide valuable feedback on the project’s outputs.
The event concluded with an interactive questionnaire encouraging participants to continue exchanging experiences, identifying common challenges and exploring future collaboration opportunities.

By combining technical training with hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions, the event demonstrated how BETTED is helping transform knowledge into action. Through practical tools, capacity building and stakeholder engagement, the project continues to support the dairy sector in its transition towards greater energy efficiency and sustainability.
