On 6–8 October 2026, the Spanish Food and Drink Industry Federation (FIAB) participated in Alimentaria FoodTech in Barcelona, a key meeting point for technological innovation, equipment and solutions for the food and beverage processing industry.

The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity to engage with professionals from across the agri-food value chain and explore technological developments relevant to more efficient and sustainable food processing. In this context, innovations in industrial equipment, process optimisation and energy management are particularly relevant to the transition towards more energy-efficient production systems.

As a Strategic Partner of Alimentaria FoodTech 2026, FIAB supported innovation and fostered connections with companies and stakeholders exploring new technologies and solutions for the food industry. With a dedicated stand at the event, FIAB also took the opportunity to disseminate its European projects, including BETTED, raising awareness of the project’s objectives, activities and practical resources.

Through its dissemination activities at the FIAB stand, BETTED was presented to industry stakeholders, highlighting the importance of improving energy efficiency across the dairy value chain, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and supporting the uptake of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies, including heat pumps.

Participation in Alimentaria FoodTech 2026 helped increase the visibility of BETTED among food industry professionals and reinforced FIAB’s commitment to promoting practical solutions that support the energy transition and contribute to a more sustainable and competitive dairy sector.
