Last 23rd April, the Spanish Food and Drink Federation (FIAB) and ESCAN, as members of the BETTED Project consortium, organized a workshop in Madrid bringing together representatives of the dairy industry to discuss on energy efficiency and technological innovation.
The event gathered industry leaders and energy professionals to discuss about the growing importance of integrating technology, energy-saving measures, and sustainable strategies into the dairy sector, reinforcing the commitment to a greener and more efficient food industry.
After an initial presentation of the BETTED project to the attendees, the session continued with two main blocks:
Industrial Case Studies
With representatives from Grupo Elecnor, Carrier, and Saint-Gobain Solutions (Kaiman and Weber). Topics such as financing mechanisms (CAEs, PPAs, solar energy integration), strategies for thermal system decarbonization, and industrial insulation solutions were discussed.
Efficient Technologies
With representatives from WEG Iberia and ESCAN, presenting non-energy benefits (NEBs), calculation tools, and methods for improving energy consumption using high-efficiency motors.
The seminar served not only to share best practices and technological advances but also to promote actionable strategies to make the dairy sector more sustainable and competitive.
