The Heating Transition Colouring Book was officially launched in Brussels on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, during a fresh, creative and engaging event that brings perspective to Europe’s heating and cooling transition. The launch event, held the day after Heat Pump Day, gathered approximately 60 participants from across the energy and climate community.
The Heating Transition Colouring Book is a joint initiative of the Cool Heating Coalition, the European Climate Foundation, the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), and Thomas Nowak (Qvantum Industries), together with Marek Miara (Fraunhofer ISE).
Through cartoons, comedy and a rich use of colour, the book tells the story of how Europe heats and cools its buildings and industry, and why the shift towards clean and sustainable solutions is both necessary and inevitable. By combining humour with clear messaging, the initiative aims to make a topic often perceived as dry and highly technical more accessible, engaging and inspiring for a wider audience.
During the event, EHPA actively carried out dissemination activities for the BETTED project. BETTED flyers were showcased and distributed at the EU project corner, helping to raise awareness of the project and its role in supporting the transition to more energy-efficient and sustainable heating solutions.
The launch highlighted how creativity and storytelling can complement policy and technology, fostering broader engagement with Europe’s heating transition and supporting projects like BETTED in spreading their message.
